This year has been a great year for several Bollywood stars, especially Akshay Kumar, Salman Khan and Ayushmann Khurrana. The trio had multiple releases in 2019 and the films were quite distinctive, loved the audience, and made good collections.

The fans are happy with the films and the performances of their favourite actors. Their films created a lot of buzz, broke several records and their acting was hailed by the critics and the audience. But now that 2019 is over, it can be rightly said that this year belonged to Akshay Kumar and Ayushmann Khurrana. Salman Khan lacked a bit behind in the race and we are not talking about numbers here.

#Flashback2019: Sorry Salman Khan, But 2019 Belongs To Akshay Kumar & Ayushmann Khurrana!

Akshay Kumar was seen in four movies – Kesari, Mission Mangal, Housefull 4 and Good Newwz. Cinegoers enjoyed and appreciated all these four films. What makes Akshay stand out in this race is that all his films are based on different subjects. Even a film like Housefull 4 which didn’t receive great reviews from the critics, successfully managed to entertain the audience.

Coming to Ayushmann Khurrana, just like last 2 years, even in 2019 he proved that talent and content win over everything. With Article 15, Dream Girl and Bala, he proved his versatility yet again along with the knack of understanding the nerve of the audience with superlative content and stories. Through his films, Ayushmann made people question what’s happening in the country, addressed how everyone needs a companion (not necessarily a romantic partner) and gave a message of self-love and self-acceptance.

Now talking about Salman Khan, even if his films have good openings and mass appeal, in Bharat and Dabangg 3, we didn’t see him doing something he has never done before. There was action, fight sequences, and masaledaar dialogues, which defines a complete package of a typical Salman Khan film. Bharat & D3 were commercial films and both released on public holidays. At least Dabangg 3 should’ve done a better job considering Chulbul Pandey was coming on screen after a long gap of 7 years. So despite having the benefit, these films didn’t manage to create the magic which was expected from the way they were hyped and despite being out-and-out commercial films.

To conclude, irrespective of what the box office figures are, 2019 belongs to Akshay and Ayushmann because Salman failed to make the most of the opportunities he had. Well, in 2020, let’s see what Bhai serves the audience to be back in the game again!
