Last year released Gully Boy was a successful film for many reasons. Apart from Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt’s powerful story, Siddhant Chaturvedi’s magnetic presence wooed everyone in the audience. The actor received a lot of appreciation from the critics as well and became a bankable name with just one film.
The actor was nominated for his performance in Gully Boy at the Filmfare awards 2020 under many categories. While he won the award for the Best Supporting Role, he lost the Best Debut Award to Abhimanyu Dassani who made his entry into Bollywood with Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota. While the actor was happy to receive the black lady, he wished it was for Best Debut instead.
The actor finally opened about the same and said that it was his dream to win the award. During an interaction with BT, Siddhant said, “This was unexpected. I am thankful to Zoya Akhtar and Ranveer Singh. Zoya and Ranveer saw that thing in me. It is them who made MC Sher. An award does not put pressure on me. I am not pressurized over my next films. I am excited about Bunty Aur Babli 2 and the Shakun Batra film with Deepika. In fact, I am excited more than getting pressurized.”

He further added, “I am very happy that my parents and my brother are also here with me to share the moment. I am glad that Abhimanyu Dassani won the Best Debutant award. He is a very hardworking guy. Winning that award (Best Debut) was also a dream for me.”
On the work front, Siddhant Chaturvedi will be next seen in alongside Deepika Padukone and Ananya Panday in Shakun Batra’s next untitled film. The actor also has Bunty Aur Babli 2. He is paired alongside debutante Sharvari in the film which also stars Saif Ali Khan and Rani Mukerji. He also has a horror-comedy with Katrina Kaif, details about which have been kept under wraps.
