Farhan Akhtar turns 38 today, January 9, 2012, and he has good reasons to celebrate as the year 2011 has been wonderful to him.
He acted in sister Zoya Akhtar’s Zindagi Na Milegi Dobaraand the film turned out to be one of the successful films of 2011. Farhan surprised everyone with his fabulously nuanced performance.
There was more in store for Farhan in 2011. His directorial venture Don 2 released at the end the year (Dec 23) and turned out to be a winner all the way. Farhan’s direction was appreciated by the critics as well as the audiences.
Son of well-known script writers, Javed Akhtar and Honey Irani, Farhan Akhtar made his directorial debut in 2001 with the youth-centric film, Dil Chahta Hai. The film was about three friends (played by Aamir Khan, Akshaye Khanna and Saif Ali Khan). After DCH, Farhan went on to direct Hrithik Roshan in Lakshya and Shah Rukh Khan in Don.
