Join UsThe #MeToo movement began in India after Tanushree Dutta accused Nana Patekar in a 10 year old sexual harassment incident during the filing of the 2008 film, Horn Ok Please. The movement caught fire and engulfed many big names of the industry.
One such name was filmmaker Sajid Khan who was accused by several females of harassment on multiple occasions. However; Sajid’s sister and choreographer-director Farah Khan has now opened up about the incident in an exclusive interview to Zoom.
Speaking about the same, Farah said, “I had always been sensitive towards the issue. My only issue was the level of hypocrisy show by some people. That I think was disturbing. I have no issue with whoever and whichever girl wants to come but those who claim to be the saviours of the society should meat out the same treatment to everyone accused during the movement.”
She further added, “You cannot pick and chose that one accused is soaring success on the professional front and I can benefit from it and the other I can throw under the bus. I think that is not a good way to do it. There needs to be a due process, which is yet to come in place. You cannot just say trial by social media because it is a very dangerous phenomenon and can happen to anyone in the course of time.”

On being asked if the industry’s decision to not work with accused is fair, the Om Shanti Om director said, “We have a legal system. That the matter to the court and sort it out through the legal process. We should work with everyone till the court does not rule out if the person is guilty or not.”
