December 21 2012 will see year’s much touted Salman Khan starrer Dabangg 2 in the theaters. The 2010 Dabangg had net earnings of 140, 10, 00,000 and gross earnings of 187, 50, 00, 000. It got an enviable verdict of being an “All Time Blockbuster”. Here is a list of facts that you would like to know before you find out how Dabangg 2 does at the box office.

• This is the first time ever, that in the 23 years career of Salman Khan’s work in Bollywood , he is to star as a lead in a sequel.

 

• Chulbul Pandey, the lead played by Salman Khan has been promoted and thus transferred to Lucknow from being the rowdy cop, also referred to as Laalganj ka Robinhood.

 

• Remember Ghani Bhai from Wanted? The character was played by Prakash Raj who will be the heavy weight villain of Dabangg 2. Well, Dabangg’s home-grown villain Sonu Sood’s performance was much applauded. So this’ll be a villainous battle to watch out for.

 

• The Kamal Amrohi Studio, more popularly known as the Kamlistan amongst the industry elites, had been given up for hire entirely for Dabangg 2 till the closures of its first schedule. This is a unique incident as till date in the whole 55 years long history of Kamalistan, the studio has never been occupied for a single film solely.

 

• While Dabangg was directed by Abhinav Kashyap, Dabangg 2 is set to be under the direction of Arbaaz Khan, the brother of the lead, Salman Khan and also the co-producer of both Dabangg and Dabangg 2. This will be the Khan Brother’s directorial debut.

• Dabangg 2 has almost 85 bodyguards swarming the set to provide the required security. This is a little too high number of security guards for indoor shootings.

 

• While Mallaika Arora Khan, the deemed dancer and wife of  Arbaaz Khan, still plays Munni, the item girl of Dabangg, Kareena Kapoor is seen performing an item number for Dabangg 2, titled “Fevicol”.

 

• With the script of Dabangg being so highly praised, Dilip Shukla continues to be the script writer for Dabangg 2.

 

• 2012 is set to be the year of Bollywood’s INR 100 crores club. Dabangg 2 is set to be the latest addition to the elite list that also includes Jab Tak Hai Jaan, Housefull2, Rowdy Rathore, Bol Bachchan, Ek Tha Tiger and Son Of Sardaar.

 

• Sonakshi Sinha’s success this year at the box office with Rowdy Rathore and Son of Sardaar is a reason why fans must wait stone still for her performance in Dabangg 2 as Salman’s wife, Rajjo.

 

• Arbaaz’s debut as a producer happened with Arbaaz Khan Productions co-producing Dabangg. Dabangg 2 will be the second venture for this production house.

 

• Dabangg had a runtime of 126 minutes while Dabangg 2 has one of 110 minutes. The film has been cleared by the censor board with a U/A certificate and is said to have the shortest runtime compared to all other Salman Khan movies.

 

• Sajid and Wajid, the music composer duo has been credited with the music for both Dabangg and Dabangg 2. Dabangg music saw an over whelming response. We will have to wait a while before we find out if Fevicol has beaten Zhandu Balm and if the Dagabaaz has won over the Mast Mast Nain.
