Its official: Arjun Rampal has bowed out of the sequel to the 2006 film Don. Arjun Rampal played the vengeful Jasjit with Shah Rukh Khan in Farhan Akhtar’s action thriller. There were rumours that Arjun Rampal would also star in its sequel, Don 2 but the former model put the buzz to rest by posting a message on his Twitter account, “Hey guys, yes it is true won’t be part of ‘Don 2’. Wish the team all the success. I am sure it will be a super film.”

The new addition to the ‘Don 2’ star cast is the sexy hunk Kunal Kapoor! The jubilant actor tweeted, “Yes, I am doing Don 2…Very excited!! Really looking forward to working with King Khan and Farhan…” It’s not clear what Kunal’s role is going to be, but he might play Shah Rukh Khan’s antagonist.

‘Don 2’ has been in the pipeline for quite some time now because director Farhan Akhtar wanted to focus on his acting career and Shah Rukh got busy with Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, My Name Is Khan and RA.ONE. Word around is that Priyanka Chopra and Eesha Koppikhar will be retained and Lara Dutta will also play one of the don’s molls.
