First, the Hollywood studios released their English films in India to test the waters. They then began to dub their English films in languages like Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. Encouraged by the public response, they then got into film production with their Indian counterparts. A couple of studios also bought stakes in Indian film corporate houses. And the latest is that at least one studio (Disney) is looking to completely buy out one of the leading production corporates, UTV. That’s how Hollywood has invaded the Indian film industry.
