He directs, he acts, he sings, he writes and he composes: he does it all and how! With a knack for creative story telling and enthralling performances, Farhan Akhtar is on an all time high now. At this point when he is getting applauded for his highly critical biopic on Milkha singh, Farhan is busy grooving to a different space altogether. With the side effects of shaadi all incorporated in his next, Farhan, the relationship guru strikes a few simple solutions to different issues. “If you want to be a cricketer you need to work really hard. You would want to make yourself the best batsman or the best bowler and then you will get yourself into the cricket team and when you go out to bat you cannot turn around and tell the umpire, “You know what, I will get out 3 times. Twice don’t give me out. Third time you give me out” You cannot change the rules. Similarly marriage is also an extension of sports. So everyone is well aware of the rules of marriage. So when people get into that institution and then try and start changing the rules, that’s when it’s not going to work for you. So be very prepared of what you are getting into. Nothing is going to be very different from what you imagined. You can just make it better. And the only way to make it better is by being honest to yourself and then if you are honest to yourself you will end up automatically honest to the other person”, was what he dished out as the simple precaution to the different Side Effects of Shaadi!
But having made so many enthralling films, the actor in Farhan seemed to have dominated the director. Will he get back to the director’s chair anytime soon? Well here’s what he said. “That remains to be seen. First I will be releasing this film, then I have to work on Zoya’s film. So anything I do in terms of directing would only be in 2015, but it’s not decided as of yet.” And with his magnanimous Don franchise waiting for a renewal, it might be disappointing for all Don fans as the director simple has no plans to make it now. “I hope I make plans to. It is the kind of film that allows itself for a sequel to be made in the future and as and when it happens, I will be happy to make it but I don’t have any plans at the moment”, he brushed aside rumours of him directing Don anytime soon.
And about today’s release, Farhan goes on to call the relatability the most important USP of the film. “At every point in the film, everyone including me, you, our family members, aunts, relatives, friends, everyone will somewhere relate to the story. You might have said it to your boyfriends, husbands, wives, girlfriends, even parents or friends but somewhere Shaadi Ke Side Effects is one film that everyone can feel a part of”, he signed off with his trademark smile! And so we were floored!
