Kangana Ranaut is now well known to be a lone wolf in the industry. From speaking about nepotism to the latest CAA (Citizenship Amendment Act) row, the actress has never feared from putting forth her stand. The latest is about pay parity issues, that many actresses like Taapsee Pannu, Sonakshi Sinha and Alia Bhatt have somewhere defended linking it with the box office response. And it clearly hasn’t gone very well with the actress.

Kangana Ranaut yesterday was present at the trailer launch of her upcoming sports film, Panga. The movie directed by Ashwini Iyer Tiwari also stars Richa Chadha, Jassi Gill, Neena Gupta amongst others.

When asked about her take on the pay parity issue, Kangana began as, “I have heard successful women from the film industry say things like ‘we don’t deserve equal pay because heroes get bigger openings’”. If you don’t feel empowered, nobody can make you feel empowered. You have to feel like an equal. God has given me a pancreas, kidney, a heart and eyes. I am not inferior to others. If you don’t feel empowered, no court can make you feel empowered. Half the battle is lost when you feel undeserving.”

Did Kangana Ranaut Take An Indirect Dig At Alia Bhatt, Taapsee Pannu For Defending Pay Parity?

Previously actresses like Sonakshi Sinha, Taapsee Pannu and Alia Bhatt had spoken something on those lines. While Sonakshi and Taapsee favoured Akshay Kumar getting more pay during Mission Mangal for legit reasons according to them, Alia Bhatt on the other hand, favoured Varun Dhawan during Kalank.

Whether or not Kangana Ranaut’s statement was in reference to the aforesaid actress remains a mystery but we’re glad that more and more actresses are coming forward to fight for women empowerment.

Meanwhile, Panga has been receiving rave response ever since the posters and trailer have been unveiled.
