The outbreak of COVID-19 across the globe has affected cinema in a huge way. Bigger than we can think of. Filmmaker Anurag Basu who was gearing up for the release of his film Ludo, opened up on how Coronavirus will change the industry and there will be many films in the coming future with the backdrop of the pandemic till there is another crisis.
Anurag Basu talking about the effect, said that cinema will be seeing a complete shift in the storytelling and mode of entertainment. He exclaimed how cinema will be defined as pre-corona and post corona. He emphasised on the fact that people are finding it comfortable and convenient to stream content on OTT platforms. And that may lead the narrative now.
In the recent times we saw a production house registering the title Corona Pyaar Hai and they are keen on making a film on the same. Basu spoke on how people will take corona as the backdrop for many subjects.

“I believe now corona will become the backdrop and subject for many films for years to come till the world sees the next big crisis,” said Anurag Basu in an interview with PTI.
Anurag Basu feels people will be coming out of this changed and will have a new view. They will not accept any meaningless content. He also expressed his support and concern for the daily wage workers.
The filmmaker was gearing up for the release of his comedy anthology Ludo which was set for a April release. But the pandemic postponed the same and he is now waiting for everything to fall in place. Ludo stars Aditya Roy Kapur, Sanya Malhotra, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Rohit Saraf, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Bachchan, and Rajkummar Rao.
