Dia Mirza starrer Paanch Adhyay Movie Poster

Dimpled beauty Dia Mirza, who has always been known for her humility, modesty and grace, was in Kolkata recently to launch the music of her maiden Bengali venture, Paanch Adhyay. The film, directed by debutante director Pratim D.Gupta is tentatively a slice of life revealing the five chapters or phases of a relationship. Bengal that is evolving as a new sphere of originative and cinematic brilliance seems to have another feather to its cap as Paanch Adhyay seems to be breathtaking-ly refreshing with an interesting narrative.

The film has already hogged the limelight by making an entry into the 14th Mumbai Film Festival right away and that has been a matter of pride for the entire cast and crew. Recently, on Saturday, the music of the flick was launched in Kolkata, by Dia Mirza in the presence of Shantanu Moitra, the music composer and Usha Uthhup, one of the singers from a list that spells bravado. Dia, in an absolutely gorgeous embellished sari looked shimmering at the press meet held for the same. Add to it, a dazzling neckpiece that added sheen to her persona.

Shantanu, who is known for his beautiful renditions from Parineeta has put his creative genes to use and produce an album that in itself is magical. He has kind of added that soul, that emotional touch to bring about the emotions of angst, pain, fury and love beautifully on screen and to our eardrums! Amidst a scintillating background score, the album boasts of heavyweight stalwarts like Shaan, Shreya Ghoshal, Usha Uthhup, Shubha Mudgal, Swanand Kirkire and Ash King. After making an entry into the ‘New Faces of Indian Cinema’ section at the MAMI, Dia is all geared to heavily promote a film that is so close to her heart.

Dia signed the film, not just because she always -wanted to do a Bangla movie, but also because she wanted to make her Bengali mom proud of her. With her mom touting Dia’s portrayal of Ishita as her career’s best, we are looking forward to the movie that releases during the festive Durga Puja season on October 19th. The film also stars Bengal’s pride Soumitra Chatterjee and Priyangshu Dasgupta in pivotal roles.
