Join UsToday, the much awaited trailer of Dhadak was launched at an event in the presence of the lead actors Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter. With this film, Janhvi is all set for her big Bollywood debut. She got emotional during the trailer launch event as she remembered her mother Sridevi.
The evergreen actress Sridevi passed away in February due to the accidental drowning in a Dubai hotel. Just before her daughter’s big debut, Sridevi lost her life.
During the trailer launch today, when Janhvi was questioned about Sridevi, she got emotional and missed her mother. She said, “I miss my mom today.” On being asked about any tips she got from her mother, Janhvi said, “The biggest tip my mother has ever given me is to work hard and feel every emotion. I have tried to do that in this film.”
Janhvi also narrated an anecdote during the launch and said that she saw Sairat with her mother. She said, “I watched Sairat with my mom and I wished that this should be my first film and even my mom wanted a role like that for me.”

Janhvi was also frank enough to admit that no one could play Archie’s character from the Marathi film Sairat. She said, “My character is different from the original character played by Rinku. What Rinku Rajguru has done in Sairat no one can do it. I have tried my best to be honest towards my craft.”
Also present at the trailer launch were the whole Kapoor clan! Present were Boney Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Mohit Marwah, Antara Marwah, Khushi Kapoor, Sanjay Kapoor, Shanaya Kapoor, Maheep Kapoor and Harshvardhan Kapoor. Ishaan’s mother Neelima Azim, Karan Johar and Shashank Khaitan too were present at the trailer launch.
Dhadak is the official adaptation of the Marathi film Sairat which features Rinkoo Rajguru and Akash Thosar. Dhadak is slated to release on July 20.
