Following the ongoing imbalance due to the NRC-CAA, yesterday Delhi saw a violent turn which left 7 dead, many injured and a loss of property amidst The US President Donald Trump’s India visit. While many names from Bollywood have been actively speaking about the issue, today Anurag Kashyap, Sonam Kapoor and a few others took to condemn the violence. #DelhiBurning has been a trending tag since yesterday.
The debate over NRC-CAA have been going on since a couple of months now. There have been several protests across the country, especially in the capital. Yesterday the protest in Delhi escalated to violence as the Delhi police and commoners were loggerheads. It resulted in the death of 1 police officer and 6 protestors, leaving many injured.
While Bollywood has been voicing its opinion be it pro or anti about the law, many took to Twitter to speak about the violence. Apart from Sonam and Anurag, Gauhar Khan, Ranvir Shorey, Richa Chadha, Swara Bhasker, Raveena Tondon and few more also spoke about the same.
Anurag Kashyap in his tweet lashed out at the chief minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal and wrote, “Shame on you @ArvindKejriwa.” Actress Gauahar Khan wrote, “Where is this hate coming from ??? a scull cap , a bearded man , either bleeding or being branded a terrorist, but I ask , who r then these ppl with the sticks ???? No beard , No scull cap yet attackers ,
terrorising a non threatening man , making him bleed! #lynching #hating.”

So depressing to see #DelhiBurning on a day when it should be celebrating #TrumpInIndia.
No sanity in sight.

Overworked and one dead too. Folks . If we could be kind enough also to offer some condolences to the bereaved. They don’t have cushy lives and are stuck in a thankless job. Constantly under pressure. A few bad apples can spoil the cart. https://t.co/zmy8TBHOcK

Offer condolences, offer compensation too.
Salute the brave cop who didn’t back down in the face of a gun. That red t-shirt trigger happy terrorist must be arrested ASAP. https://t.co/7RiAxc4S2j— TheRichaChadha (@RichaChadha) February 24, 2020
