Delhi Belly writer Akshat Verma will be making his directorial debut with a comic thriller that will be produced by UTV Motion Pictures. Delhi-based Akshat had written the story, dialogues and a even a song of cult hit Delhi Belly, which was produced by Aamir Khan Productions and UTV.
Akshat is currently scripting the comic thriller. Talking about his association with UTV, Akshat said, “To have a major studio get behind your film completely enables you to do your best work – I’m inspired and excited to be working with UTV again on my next film.”
Siddharth Roy Kapur, CEO, UTV Motion Pictures, had words of praise for Akshat, “The fantastic script written by Akshat was undoubtedly one of the key reasons behind the success of Delhi Belly and judging by his concept and vision, we believe he’ll write and direct a superb film.”
Other details of the project are yet to be announced.
