Deepika Padukone Speeds Up Her ‘Race’

Cocktail ensured that she was on a high and now with Race 2, she is all set to be speeding ahead in a big way. Deepika Padukone is finding her way up the ladder of Bollywood superstar heroines and the way things are currently looking for the hot-n-happening lady, 2013 should only turn out to be a landmark year for her.

“Race 2 is Deepika’s fourth film with Saif Ali Khan and barring Aarakshan which was offbeat, her ‘jodi’ with the Nawab of Pataudi has seen all around positive comments, right from Love Aaj Kal to Cocktail. Race 2 should be no different,” says an insider, “In fact all confusion or ill-will of any kind has been thrown out of the window and the imbroglio that she suffered with producer Ramesh Taurani due to date issues has been well forgotten.”

Though there were tid-bit reports around Saif being unhappy with her when she walked out of the film, the man of the moment gave her a clean chit and termed it all as ‘professional situations’ that an actor finds herself in. With all being well, she soon landed for the shoot of Race 2 and the film proceeded in as amicable manner as possible.

“This isn’t all as there are two other biggies that she is already a part of. Though with Rajnikanth she missed working on Rana (which has been shelved as of now), there was a bonus waiting for her in the form of Kochadiyan. The film’s shoot is already complete and a promise is being made to the audience that there would be something special waiting for them once Deepika arrives on screen,” the insider adds.

On the other hand there is something even special in the waiting, what with her reunion with Ranbir Kapoor, albeit only on-screen, courtesy Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. While Karan Johar promises that there is this special something waiting to happen on screen with the return of Ranbir and Deepika, the woman also assures that the reunion would be worth it.

Meanwhile with Ram Leela and Chennai Express being her other (confirmed) big ticket films in the waiting and talks of her featuring in Kick catching heat as well, Deepika is indeed speeding up her ‘race’.
