The film was a subtle social commentary that attempted to break shackles of conservative thinking. With Food and Love occupying her attention, thanks to her upcoming Daawat-E-Ishq, Chopra is in happier space given the breezy film she has at hand.
In an interview to Koimoi, Parineeti emphasized that Daawat E Ishq is a breezy watch. She explained with, “Daawat-E-Ishq is not a messaged film that attempts to change your mindset, your life or your thinking in anyway. I think the USP of Daawat E Ishq is that it is such a sweet, happy film. It is not a film that begins, focuses on a pivotal mudda and then it ends. It is just a pleasant film where you keep smiling, then food comes where people are enjoying and eating, falling in love, singing a song. It is just sweet and happy film. When I read the script, I finished it in an hour. Usually scripts take 2 and half hours to read. It was so breezy. There was nothing heavy in the film where I will need to go back and re-read a scene to understand it better. We are not trying to change anybody’s life with this film, it is sheer 2 hours of happiness rolled in a film.”
But consciously Parineeti has stuck to love stories primarily. She agrees and adds, “I think all youngsters are essentially sticking to love stories only. Be it Sid’s Ek Villain or Varun’s Main Tera Hero, all are love stories basically. Love stories is something India can never get bored of. We love watching love stories and they are one thing that will never go out of style. I began with Ladies Vs Vicky Bahl which wasn’t a love story. I ideally should have began with a solo love story but the fact that my role was so much stronger than that was the thing that attracted me.”
So how would Parineeti like to describe Daawat E Ishq? Ask her and she quips, “When you watch the film, you’ll just say ‘Aww so sweet’. It is an ‘Awww, so sweet’ film.”
Daawat E Ishq starring Parineeti Chopra alongside Aditya Roy Kapoor is all set to release on 19th September.
