Dutch director Laurence Postma’s first Hindi film Cover Story, starring Jackie Shroff and newcomer Anjum Nayar is all set to release on September 28.
The film is an official adaptation of legendary Dutch filmmaker Theo van Gogh’s film The Interview, which was remade by actor-director Steve Buscemi in Hollywood starring Sienna Miller in the lead.
Cover Story is a two-character film revolving around a well-known journalist and a famous movie star. Coming out of his usual mould, Jackie Shroff plays the award-winning political and war correspondent who is assigned to interview one of the most popular actresses of the country, played by debutante Anjum Nayar.
When the two will finally meet, scar will meet scar and create moments of intimacy in the middle of the madness.
“It’s unlike anything I have done in a long, long time,” says Jackie Shroff. “Cover Story gave me an opportunity to dig deep within me and become the character. It’s a film I am really looking forward to.”
The film written by Postma himself is produced by Glorious Entertainment and has music by Monty Sharma (Saawariya) and Shamir Tandon(Page 3).
“We found the concept unique and Laurence has brought the best of international technique and storytelling to Cover Story,” says producer Pappee Sangtani.
Cover Story releases on 28th Sepetember, 2012
