Post Kabir Singh’s massive success, its Shahid Kapoor all around! Every cine-goer is curious to know what the actor’s next project will be, especially after reports of demanding 40 crores, which although he clearly denied. The latest is that Shahid Kapoor is all set with the Nani’s Jersey remake but may not be backed by Karan Johar, and there’s another condition! Here’s all we know about it.
If a recent report by Pinkvilla is to be believed, producer Dil Raju was keen on having Shahid get into the shoes of Nani and play the lead, and looks like Shahid has agreed to the same. “Dil Raju wants Shahid to do the remake of Nani starrer Jersey.

Shahid has watched the film and loved it. His last movie which was a South remake (Kabir Singh) did wonders to his career and the story of Jersey touched him. Initially, they had plans of making the film with Karan Johar presenting it in Hindi but then the producer decided he will make his own debut in Bollywood with the film. The director of the original (Gowtham Tinnanuri) will be mostly helming the remake too,” reveals a source close to the development.

He wants to make sure he’s there for both his kids Misha and Zain’s birthdays and will only kickstart shoot for Jersey around November this year. He will make announcements for two projects back to back. One of them is definitely the Jersey remake. Right now, he’s planning another holiday with wife Mira Kapoor and his kids. He wants to enjoy this time off before again going back to the grind,” adds the source.
Well, only time will tell if he goes ahead with the Jersey remake or not, but the actor clearly seem to have his kitty filled with offers from several filmmakers. Let’s see which one ends up picking!
