The country is facing a crisis post PM Narendra Modi led BJP Government passed the Citizen Amendment Bill. Protests are being carried out in several parts of the country, and now the last is how Akshay Kumar is facing the wrath post he liked a tweet against the Jamia protest.
Since today morning #JamiaProtest has been trending on Twitter, and soon fans noticed the Good Newwz actor liking a tweet that read, “Badhaii Ho.. Jamia me azaadi mili hai.” It was in reference to the video that witnessed Police officials beating the protestors at Jamia Millia Islamia’s campus last night.

Soon, users started backlashing the actor, and #BoycottCanadianKumar has been trending on Twitter ever since. Check out some of the user tweets below:

Syed Tabrez: I expected this tweet from you, This doesn’t justify your act. You have liked it intentionally. You are not a child to press it accidentally or by mistake. #BoycottCanadianKumar

However, Akshay Kumar cleared his stance as he took to Twitter to mention that it happened by mistake. Akshay wrote, “Regarding the ‘like’ on the tweet of Jamia Milia students, it was by mistake. I was scrolling and accidentally it must have been pressed and when I realised I immediately unliked it as In no way do I support such acts.”
