As days are passing by, the makers of Bharat are raising our curiosity by announcing exciting things about the film. Recently, filmmaker Ali Abbas Zafar shared the first still of Bharat starring Salman Khan and he also announced Priyanka Chopra as the leading actress in the film.
Now today, after Priyanka Chopra and Sunil Grover’s grand entry, Disha Patani, who is enjoying the huge success of her film Baaghi 2, has been roped in as the second actress in this Salman Khan starrer.
According to Mumbai Mirror, Disha will be seen playing the role of a trapeze artist in a 1960s circus, a strong and important character to the story. Talking about the same, Ali said, “The pairing of Salman and Disha in a circus set-up in the ’60s is unusual and exciting. She is a promising star and for this character, we needed a girl who looked vulnerable and beautiful yet had the physicality of an athlete. Disha fit the bill perfectly.”
Disha’s character will require to learn the skills of the circus trade as trapeze artists are known for their agility. Expressing her happiness, Disha said, “I’m excited to be a part of Bharat, it’s like a dream come true to get an opportunity to work with Salman sir and I can’t wait for the journey to begin. I am a big fan of Ali Abbas sir’s work.”

The movie is all set to go on floors in July and it will be shot across locations in Abu Dhabi and Spain, besides Punjab and Delhi in India. Bharat is an official adaptation of the 2014 South Korean drama, Ode To My Father, which depicted modern Korean history from the 1950s to present-day through the life of an ordinary man and events such as the Hungnam Evacuation during the 1950 Korean War, the government’s decision to dispatch nurses and miners to West Germany in the ’60s and the Vietnam War.
Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar and produced by Atul Agnihiotri and Bhushan Kumar, Bharat is scheduled to release on Eid 2019.
