His TV show Dhan Dhana Dhan has had a great performance, and the comedian has also bagged a role in Vishal Bhardwaj’s Chuuriyaan, opposite Vijay Raaz, Radhika Madan and Dangal actress Sanya Malhotra. Now, it looks like he might be seen in Salman Khan and Priyanka Chopra starrer Bharat as well.
According to a report in the Indian Express, a source talked about Sunil’s character. “Sunil Grover will be playing Salman Khan’s friend in Bharat. His role is not like how in other films where comedians are used for a couple of comic punches and then they disappear. He has an interesting role in the film.”
It will definitely be intriguing for the audience to see him play such a character. While he has previously worked on the big screen in Ghajini, Heropanti, Gabbar Is Back and Baaghi, never before has he played such a pivotal role in a film as grand as this. His 2017 film Coffee With D, where he played the protagonist, ended up as a flop. With this project, the comedian turned actor opens himself up up to many more possibilities in Bollywood.
In the meantime, director Ali Abbas Zafar has already begun shooting for Bharat. This project marks the 3rd collaboration of the actor-director duo of him and Salman Khan, after Sultan and Tiger Zinda Hai. Also, There is a lot of anticipation from the film, as it marks Salman Khan and Priyanka Chopra reuniting on-screen after almost a decade.

Bharat is the official remake of the 2014 Korean film An Ode To My Father. The film will narrate the story of India’s history from its independence to modern times, with Salman sporting five different looks spanning 60 years. In fact, a crucial part will showcase the actor in his late 20s, looking much leaner and younger.
The film is all set to release on Eid 2019.
