Hazel Keech made her Bollywood debut with Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor starrer Bodyguard and is still remembered for her role in the film, however, the actress has chosen to stay out of the limelight ever since. It was only a few months ago that Hazel had shared a power-packed post on her social media account about her struggle with depression, bulimia and the pressure to fit in and how she is now finally comfortable in her own skin.
And now, Hazel will be returning to face the camera with Aamir Khan’s daughter, Ira Khan’s debut directorial play which is an adaptation of Euripides’ Greek tragedy Medea. Speaking about the pressures of constantly being under the limelight and the effects it has on an individual, Hazel said, “Mental health issues derive from a feeling or believe that I’m not good enough. I can’t say definitively that mine did or didn’t come from showbiz since I’ve been performing since I was 5.”

In the same interview to Hindustan Times, Keech further said, “But yes, being in an industry where you’re constantly poked, prodded and dissected and told ‘parts of your face or body is fine but other parts need to be surgically altered’ and that you’re not pretty/slim/tall/sexy enough does chip away at your self esteem. Thankfully, asking for help is becoming less and less of a taboo these days.”

The British-Mauritian model turned actor tied the knot with former cricketer Yuvraj Singh and will next be seen in Ira’s play which will also feature her brother and Aamir’s son, Junaid Khan.
