Anushka Sharma: Bombay Velvet Is One Of The Best Period Films Ever

Actress Anushka Sharma, who will be seen in Anurag Kashyap’s period drama Bombay Velvet, says that it’s one of the best period films ever made.

Anusha Sharma said, “Bombay Velvet is set in 1960s and this is one of the best period films ever. The art director, costume designer everybody has done such a great job that it looks so authentic, so true to the script. I have worked with some talented actors in this film and it was very enriching.”

Set in 1960s, Bombay Velvet is directed by Anurag Kashyap and the film stars Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Karan Johar, Raveena Tandon, Kay Kay Menon among others.

The actress is currently busy promoting her upcoming film PK and says with PK it’s a strange experience that she is going through.

She says, “With PK it’s a strange experience because you don’t know what’s going to happen but you know it’s going to be good. I am glad that Raju offered me this film. I am extremely happy to be a part of PK.”

Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, PK features Aamir Khan, Anushka Sharma, Sanjay Dutt, Sushant Singh Rajput among others. The film is slated for Dec 19 release.

Though Anushka’s last released film was Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola, which was released in Jan 2013, she says she has been working really hard on her four films when she was not seen in the public eye.

She says, “I was not in the public eye but, the fact is that I have worked my ass off because I have shot for four films at that time. It’s been like very challenging for me. But now I am happy that all the films are complete and I am being able to showcase it.”
