Former and current cricketers like Nasser Hussain, Brendon McCullum, Herschelle Gibbs, Kieron Pollard, Andrew Symonds, Kamran Akmal, Tillakaratne Dilshan, Graham Gooch, Wasim Akram and Matthew Hayden are part of the film in the match sequences in ‘Patiala House’. Not only will Akshay Kumar share screen space with them, the daredevil actor will also hit a few boundaries with the cricketers on the field.

In the film, Akshay Kumar plays a Punjabi boy forced to live the life his father, Rishi Kapoor, wants him to, thus giving up his dream of playing cricket. It is only after Anushka Sharma’s entry in his life that Akshay decides to stand up for his dreams. Thereafter, he is shown playing for England in the World Cup. Evidently, the producers decided to hype up the film by roping in some well known faces to be part of England’s cricket team. Akshay plays a bowler in the cricket team.
And with the Cricket World Cup and the IPL inching closer, ‘Patiala House’ is definitely buzzing with all the top-notch players.
