Akshay Kumar is all set to entertain the masses with his first release of 2020 titled Sooryavanshi. Directed by Rohit Shetty, the superstar plays a cop in this action-drama that also stars Katrina Kaif in the lead role.

The trailer of the film released 2 weeks ago and has received tremendous response. Akshay is back in his action avatar again with a big commercial film and it reminded his fans of his 90s and early 2000s films. In the Sooryavanshi trailer, there’s a dialogue of Akshay that there is only one religion and that is ‘being Indian’. In an interview with PTI, the Housefull 4 actor was asked about it.

The actor said, “I don’t believe in any religion. I only believe in being Indian and that is what the film also shows. The idea of being an Indian and not about being a Parsi or a Hindu or or a Muslim, we haven’t looked at it on the basis of the religion.”

So is his film relevant to the current situation in India due to the communal unrest happening in the country? Akshay Kumar answered, “It is a coincidence. We haven’t made it deliberately (now). But, yes, it is very much a relevant film today.”

Sooryavanshi will also feature Ajay Devgn as Singham and Ranveer Singh as Simmba. The duo will have a special appearance in the film. This Akshay-Katrina starrer is all set to hit the screens on March 24, 2020.
