Akshay Kumar On Mission Mangal: “Women Are Not Just Equal But More Powerful Than Men”

Recently in an interview with Mumbai Mirror, Akshay spoke about how supportive he has been about women empowerment status in India and said, “The message of the film is that women are not just equal but better and more powerful than men. When Mangalyaan happened, my wife (Twinkle Khanna) had written that it was called MOM (Mars Orbiter Mission) for a reason. Had it been called DAD, it would still be on earth. I used that line in the film too and want parents to watch it with their children.”

“Because some think certain jobs can only be done by men. Sadly, many of our text books feature comparatively lesser women and it’s time to break this stereotype. Our Finance Minister who was the Defence Minister earlier, is a lady, Nirmala Sitharaman.” He had also said earlier he did Mission Mangal for her daughter.

On the work front, Akshay is shooting for Rohit Shetty’s Sooryavanshi along with Katrina KAif. He also has Good News opposite Kareena Kapoor Khan, Kiara Advani and Diljit Dosanjh. He also has Laxmmi Bomb and very recently he has announced his collaboration with Sajid Nadiadwala with Bachchan Pandey, directed by Farhad Samji lined up for Christmas 2020.
