Akshay Kumar Gets Emotional! “From Chandni Chowk To Forbes, I Am Humbled”

Akshay Kumar is riding high on the success of Mission Mangal as it has proved to be the second-highest opening of this year in Bollywood after Salman Khan’s Bharat. Akshay is all booked for almost 2 years with back to back big releases like Good News opposite Kareena Kapoor Khan and Sooryavanshi opposite Rohit Shetty and the latest addition is Sajid Nadiadwala’s, Bachchan Pandey.

In a recent interview with Spotboye, Akshay was asked about being in the Forbes highest-paid Indian celebrity list to which he replied, “Achha lagta hain or plus kabhi socha nahi tha, aisa din bhi ayega ki ek Chandni Chowk ke ladke ko aisa mauka milega; Forbes ke andar ane ke liye. Bhagwan ka dhanywaad karta hoon and I feel humbled about it. But you know, you get these wild dreams, toh wild dreams me bhi nahi ata tha kabhi, aisi chize. Ab bas ho gaya!”

He was further asked about coming from Chandni Chowk and interviewing PM Narendra Modi to which he replied, “Nahi, bilkul nahi. Apna interview ho gaya woh bahut badi baat hain yaar; kahan Pradhan mantriji ka interview ho jaye. Woh to ek mauka mil gaya, kehte hain na zindagi me aisa kuch nahi hota hain but ho gaya or woh baad me kabhi nahi hone wali, ye bhi pata hain!”

Well, Akshay is one of the few celebrities who is very grounded despite his social status.
