In these tough times Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar has come ahead to help Gaiety Galaxy,

Going by the reports, Manoj Desai, owner of Gaiety Galaxy had to take a loan in order to pay his staff. This news reached Akshay Kumar who contacted Desai and expressed his will to help him.

Talking about the same Manoj Desai in a Mid-Day report said, “Three days ago, I got a call from Akshayji. He offered to provide financial assistance if the scenario continues. It was kind of him to offer help, but we should find a way to sustain ourselves. We have managed to collect enough funds to pay the salaries for this month, but the theatre shutdown will have long-term ramifications. Our focus is to ensure we don’t trim staff or resort to pay cuts,”

Further when asked about the action they are planning to take to curb the loses, he said that co-owner Arun Nair and him have decided to increase the ticket rates as soon as the theatres reopen.

He said, “I will head to Gaiety and Maratha Mandir today to finalize our plan of action for May. We are reworking our plans to ensure that we don’t have to seek support from the industry folk.”

As for Akshay Kumar, the actor has been contributing to the battle with COVID-19 from the very beginning. He was one of the initials celebs to make a huge donation to the PM CARES Fund. Akshay contributed a sum of Rs 25 crore.
