Ajay Devgn’s much anticipated, Maidaan, also featuring National award-winning actress Keerthy Suresh has finally found its release date. The film, based on Indian football’s golden years will hit the theatres on the 27th November 2020.

The sports drama is being directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma of Badhaai Ho fame. Maidaan will see Ajay Devgn playing the character of Syed Abdul Rahim, under whose leadership; the Indian football team won the Asian Games in 1951 and 1962. He is also regarded as the architect of modern Indian football.

Ajay is currently in Kolkata, shooting for the third segment of the film and the makers plan to complete the shooting of the VFX heavy film by March 2020 so as to ensure optimum quality of VFX for the project. It is being alleged that the VFX supervisor for the film has been flown from LA for ensuring the best quality of VFX.

Maidaan is produced by Zee Studios, Boney Kapoor, Akash Chawla, and Arunava Joy Sengupta and also features Gajraj Rao in a pivotal film in the film. Meanwhile, Ajay will also be seen in Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, Bhuj: The Pride Of India and RRR.

While there have been rumours of Ajay Devgn collaborating with Luv Ranjan for a project there has been no official confirmation about what the fate of the project is. The rumour mill was also buzzing with news that former flames Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone too had been approached for the same project, however, nothing has been finalized yet due to several reasons.
