Just two simple words. And superstar Aamir Khan made a smashing debut on Twitter, the hotbed of a lot of Bollywood conversations.
Aamir (Star Gallery) joins the increasing tribe of Bollywood twitterati: Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan, on the micro-blogging website. The twitter people (or tweeple) welcomed the 3 Idiots star with open arms. With 11 hours of his first tweet, Aamir had a phenomenal 33,714 followers.
Bollywood stars including Amitabh Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra and Karan Johar welcomed Aamir. Priyanka wrote, “Welcoming the amazing Aamir Khan! Show him some love people!”
Amitabh Bachchan, at whose insistence (Read More) Aamir has joined in, was euphoric, “You have been tried and tested! Welcome, and thank you for agreeing to Twitter! Now handle it brother! There will be madness!”
After the resounding box-office success of his 3 Idiots last year, Aamir is concentrating on production with almost three films lined up for this year: Dhobi Ghat, Peepli Live and Delhi Belly. He seems to be excelling here as well; Peepli Live was recently offered Rs. 100 million for television rights (Full Report). His fans and followers will be hoping that he replicates his on-screen success on the cyberspace too.
