Sona Mohapatra’s dislike towards Bollywood superstar Salman Khan isn’t unknown to anybody. Time and again, the singer has bashed the actor and his movies on Twitter. For a change, this time its Shahid Kapoor and his movie, Kabir Singh, which is under Sona’s radar. Here’s all you need to know about it.
Kabir Singh released on 21st June and has been garnering rave reviews ever since. However, a part of the society has been bashing the movie after they found it to be opposing the concept of feminism. Now, joining this bunch of people is Sona, who tagged Rekha Sharma, Chairperson of National Commission Of Women’s tweet and slammed her as she wrote, “Didn’t notice the deeply misogynistic & patriarchal narrative? Just intense acting? That is truly deeply disturbing. That you are the the chairperson of the @NCWIndia , makes me wonder about what we can hope for when it comes to women’s place in #India”

Not only that, she led a series of tweet after that and bashed every netizen who came in the movie’s support. Check out her tweets below:
“& how can we keep such deeply disturbing, dark & dangerous politics ‘aside’? Does the actor have no responsibility for choosing to play a part in a narrative that can set us back as a society? Is that all we have become? Creatures of ambition? #LetsTalk #India #KabirSingh,” she wrote when one of the user asked her to keep the movie away from political agendas.

Sona also lashed out the media for covering her tweets by writing, “Dear certain people of India please feel free to enjoy all the misogynistic expressions of Bollywood & dear media & paid PR companies please stop using my tweets to promote the aforesaid expressions. Find your own voices & journalistic opinions. Enough of this piggy backing.”

U are the nth moron trying to make such a false equivalence. A woman singing lustily & celebrating her own sexuality isn’t likely to cause violence & isn’t the same thing as a man grabbing a woman without her consent, kissing her apart from several other such toxic masculine acts https://t.co/d0efQmxKbV
