Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar starrer 2.0 is scheduled to release in China on July 12, 2019. However, there seems to be a roadblock or maybe a “FULLSTOP” ahead of the film’s Chinese release.
According to the information received by a Chinese trade analyst, Gavin Feng, HY Media, which is releasing the film in China has cancelled the release because they think they will lose more money with its release.
Gavin wrote, “According to local industry source, HY Media will cancel the Chinese date of July 12th for 2Point0. Official confirmation has not been given yet. But the industry source said it’s because HY Media think they could lose more money if they release it. #2Point0”

She also shared that another Indian film Padman didn’t cover its cost and if 2.0 don’t make $25 million it will be a loss maker. Gavin wrote, “As I heard, Padman, the last Indian title HY Media released, didn’t cover the cost and brought loss to them. I’m told if 2Point0 couldn’t make $25M in China, HY Media will lose money again. Disney’s Lion King was scheduled to open on July 12th two weeks ago.”

Notably, last Bollywood release Kaabil couldn’t do well at the Chinese Box Office. The film managed an earning of just 23.32 crores in its first extended weekend.
2.0 is the sequel to Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan starrer 2010 sci-fi film which proved to be a huge Blockbuster. Even 2.0 was a huge Hit in India as it did a total business of 188 crores just with its Hindi prints.
