Actor Rami Reddy, famous for playing the villain in Telugu and Hindi films, passed away yesterday at 11 a.m. in a hospital in Secundrabad. The 52-year-old actor was undergoing treatment for a kidney ailment.
Rami Reddy began his career as a popular villain in Telugi films, and later branched into Bollywood. A native of Chittor, Rami was a journalism graduate from Hyderabad’s Osmania University and worked as a journalist for some time. After he quit he made his villainous debut with director Kodi Ramakrishna’s Ankusam in 1990 as Spot Nana. Reddy’s bloodshot eyes and menacing looks made him one of the most feared villains of his time. He acted with Mithun Chakraborty in Gunda, Akshay Kumar in Jaanwar and Sunil Shetty in Krodh. He is survived by his wife, two sons and a daughter.

Rami has starred in almost 250 films – Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Hindi, Malayalam and Bhojpuri.
