The upcoming Indian historical romance of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Bajirao Mastani‘ is now landed in legal troubles. A petition has been filed against the film in the Pune court seeking a ban on it, alleging that it has distorted the history related to King Shrimant Bajirao Peshwa and his family members.
The petition was filed yesterday which allegedly says that the historical facts has been wrongly portrayed in the film while showing King Bajirao and his wives Kashibai and Mastani.

It further states that ‘Pinga’ dance is the integral part of Marathi culture and is portrayed like a item song in the film. Earlier, Prasadrao Peshwa, the descendant of Bajirao Peshwa I alleged that the historical facts has been altered while portraying the king and his wives in the film.

The hearing of this petition case will be happening on 26th November where advocate Wajid Khan will represent Hemant Patil, the president of NGO-Bharat Against Corruption who filed this petition. Magistrate S. S Bhule will judge the case.
A letter was sent to Maharashtra’s CM Devendra Fadanvis by Prasadrao to look into this matter and review the film before its release.
This magnum opus starring Ranveer Singh, Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone is slated to release on 18th December 2015.
