It’s Ranveer Singh’s birthday today and we all knew there was a surprise waiting for this. The actor has shared the first look of him as ‘Haryana Hurricane’ Kapil Dev. As captain of the winning team of India’s first World Cup, Kapil Dev has been a pillar for the Indian Cricket Team.
The actor took to his social media and posted the first look in which he nails the look of Kapil Dev. The first win of making a biopic is to get the look of your lead right; the makers of ’83 have passed this test with distinction. Check out the look below:

Before leaving for London with the ‘squad’ to begin the shoot, Ranveer told IANS: “I feel prepared and less anxious than I was when I started.”
“This is the longest I have prepared for any role. I have been preparing essentially since January, which makes it about six months. I have done three weeks, three and a half weeks, four weeks, six weeks, but six months preparing for a character is unique… But then, it’s a unique film in itself,” added the actor, who was suited, booted and moustached for the role.
The film features Ranveer Singh as Kapil Dev, the captain of the underdog Indian cricket team that lifted the World Cup for the first time in 1983 and won hearts across the world.
’83 is being presented by Anil Dhirubhai Ambani’s Reliance Entertainment. It is being co-produced by Mantena, Sajid Nadiadwala and Reliance Entertainment. The movie is slated to hit the screens on 10 April 2020.
