One of the ‘girls’ is 47 years old. Another is barely 24. And the stage is set for an unlikely clash. Farah Khan, who is showing a rather belated direction to her Bollywood dreams, would be challenging newbie Tapsee Pannu when their ‘Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi‘ and ‘Chashme Baddoor‘ clash at the box office. What makes matters interesting is that they are a generation apart.

“This is going to be a first for Bollywood for sure”, says an industry follower, “In any case Farah is creating a record of sorts by being the ‘oldest newcomer’ in town. Industry would closely observe that who gets a thumbs up from the audience.”

On her part, Farah is already in the thick of things with the promo of her film finding good appreciation and her pose a la Madhuri Dixit going viral on internet. On the other hand, Tapsee is still waiting to be unveiled.

“Director David Dhawan has massive plans for Tapsee and she would soon be there for all to see once the film’s theatrical promo is released. However, they would have good challenge from Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Co. since they are on fire post the blockbuster success of ‘Rowdy Rathore‘. Moreover, since Farah is known to be quite vocal about her films, it is a given that she would go all out in promoting her film”, an insider adds.

The battle is all set to heat up since Farah’s new look from the film on the lines of ‘Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge‘ (where she steps into Kajol’s shoes) is all set to be revealed. While she is being sport with the spoofy nature of the promotional campaign, Tapsee would be relying upon a more conventional kick-start to her Bollywood sojourn where she strikes a pose with Ali Zafar, Siddharth and Divyendu.

In the battle of generations, may be the best ‘girl’ (or shall we say ‘lady’) win!
