Yes! It is Mamata Didi after her crusade of “Ma Maati Maanush” who plans to bring all B-Town Biggies to West Bengal to add and revamp to the glam quotient of the state. Lined up next, is Amitabh Bachchan, who is reported to inaugurate the 18th Edition of Kolkata Film Festival happening this November.
Last year it was inaugurated by Badshah of tinsel town, Shah Rukh Khan, and Sharmila Tagore at Netaji Indoor Stadium. Soon after news flew in the air that Shah Rukh Khan was anointed as the Brand Ambassador for the state of West Bengal.
Chief Minister of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee and Amitabh Bachchan have had a long friendship history that has strengthened all the more over the years. Both MB and AB entered the political scenario by becoming Lok Sabha members way back in 1984. They have been sharing cordial relations since then.
Now with the tweet by Trinamool MP Kunal Ghosh,it is further reflected and confirmed that Sr Bachchan has responded positively to Mamata Banerjee’s request and confirms his presence on the day of Inauguration, that is deemed to be 10th November,2012.
So here it is Mamata Di’s funda of reviving the lost sheen of the state by adding more glitterati and B-Town quotient which in turn grabs eyeballs that are transformed into footfalls for the Film Festival held every year.
Amitabh Bachchan is a brand in himself and his presence would level up the enthusiasm and spirit of the festival. For all movie-buffs it is a great piece of news.
