Rustom starring Akshay Kumar, Ileana D’Cruz and Esha Gupta in lead roles is all set to hit the theaters next week. The film which is based on a real-life story stars Akshay as a naval officer.

The music of the film has been composed by Arko, Raghav Sachar, Jeet Gannguli and Ankit Tiwari.

Here’s a look at the soundtrack:

1. Tere Sang Yara – Rustom Music Review

The first track from the album is the romantic number Tere Sang Yara composed by Arko. Crooned by Atif Aslam, the heart-warming romantic number has great chances to be a crowd pleaser. Atif’s last romantic track, ‘Jeena Jeena‘ from Badlapur received immense popularity and it seems Tere Sang Yara could enjoy a similar fate.

2. Rustom Vahi – Rustom Music Review

While one would have thought that such a film would not have a title track, a song like ‘Rustom Vahi‘ comes as a surprise but not a sweet one. The song has been crooned by Sukriti Kakkar and has complete feels of a 80s number. One could expect this song to be played for the credits of the film.

The song has three more versions in the album. One is an instrumental one which seems situational and could be the one that is used as background score in a crucial scene. Also, a Marathi version sung by Jasraj Joshi is available which seems quite unnecessary. He also croons a separate male version that is exactly like the original song.

3. Tay Hai – Rustom Music Review

Tay Hai is Ankit Tiwari’s composition from the film. The romantic number is a beautiful track, especially with its musical arrangements. It slightly does remind us of Tiwari’s composition Yaara Re from Roy. Tay Hai will appeal to all the romantics and majorly all those who are Ankit Tiwari fans.

4. Dekha Hazaron Dafaa – Rustom Music Review

Any music album today is incomplete without Arijit Singh’s number in it. Dekha Hazaron Dafaa gets the singer on board for a slow-paced romantic number that has been composed by Jeet Gannguli. While Manoj Muntashir’s lyrics are appealing, it is Arijit and Palak Muchchal’s vocals that will win your heart instantly. This is one of the best tracks from the album.

5. Dhal Jaun Main – Rustom Music Review

Jubin Nautiyal impressed us with Zindagi song from Bajrangi Bhaijaan and now here’s his another impressive song Dhal Jaun Main composed by Jeet Gannguli. The slow-paced track reminds us a little of One Night Stand’s Ijazat yet this one has another feel altogether.

6. Jab Tum Hote Ho – Rustom Music Review

Ankit Tiwari’s second composition in the album is Jab Tum Hote Ho. Tiwari does not himself take to the mic but composes a beautiful female track with Shreya Ghoshal’s vocals. The song is extremely slow and may not appeal to everyone but mostly thanks to Shreya’s vocals, it is not a bad hear.

7. Tere Bin Yaara – Reprise – Rustom Music Review

Tere Bin Yaara reprise is a sad song that is composed with minimal instruments and with Arko’s vocals. The lyrics too change for this track and are meaningful enough, just as the original one. Tere Bin Yaara is just as good as Tere Sang Yaara.

Last Word – Rustom Music Review

The soundtrack of Rustom is high on romance and that’s actually surprising considering the film’s theme. My picks from the album are Tere Sang Yaara, Dekha Hazaron Dafaa and Dhal Jaun Main. I am going with a 3/5 for the album.
