Sushant Singh Rajput is all set to be seen in M. S. Dhoni – The Untold Story, a biopic on the life of Indian Skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni. The film’s music has been composed by Amaal Mallik.
Directed by Neeraj Pandey, the film is slated to hit the theaters on 30th September, 2016.
Here’s a look at the soundtrack of M.S Dhoni :
1. Besabriyaan – M. S. Dhoni – The Untold Story Music Review
M. S. Dhoni biopic is the first album that music composer Amaal Mallik takes on as as a solo project. The album’s first song is Besabriyaan sung by Armaan Mallik. The track is fresh and has a ‘Aashayein’ (Iqbal song) type feel to it. The lyrics written by Manoj Muntashir are quite impressive but it is really the light music of the song that appeals to us. This is one of those songs that you like to hear in the background when the credits roll.
2. Kaun Tujhe – M. S. Dhoni – The Untold Story Music Review
I truly am a huge admirer of singer Palak Muchhal. She could easily be called the next Shreya Ghoshal. With her soft vocals, Kaun Tujhe sounds like a beautiful love ballad. The romantic track is slow and has the quality to grow on you with each hearing. It is commercially viable and could enjoy a good popularity.
3. Jab Tak – M. S. Dhoni – The Untold Story Music Review
Jab Tak is another song sung by Armaan Mallik. Also a romantic number, this one will give a similar feel to most of Armaan’s love ballads. The song is comparatively shorter and hence does not give you much time to get a feel of it. It is a decent hear, not one that could make it your playlist though.
There is another version to this song. Jab Tak Redux is almost as similar to the original one except for a small tempo difference. I liked the original number better than this.
4. Phir Kabhi – M. S. Dhoni – The Untold Story Music Review
Arijit Singh’s offering to his album is Phir Kabhi. This song has more potential than the other romantic tracks from the album. With a catchy tune that makes its way to your tongue pretty soon and Arijit’s ease at crooning it, this one comes as a winner. Phir Kabhi has a very commercial tune and that works well. This could be a song that you may add to your playlist.
5. Parwah Nahi – M. S. Dhoni – The Untold Story Music Review
Parwah Nahi is the typical motivational song every sports based film has. Like the Sultan title track, Parwah Nahi also is on the similar lines. Crooned by Siddharth Basrur this song is catchy and could work in the film considering its situational nature. As a audio track, this one will not enjoy longevity.
6. Padhoge Likhoge – M. S. Dhoni – The Untold Story Music Review
Padhoge Likhoge does not have any significance as an audio track. The situational number doesn’t count as song that one could enjoy. It has been sung by Ananya Nanda & Adithyan A Prithviraj. This is one song you will hear only in the film.
Last Word – M. S. Dhoni – The Untold Story Music Review
The album of M. S Dhoni – The Untold Story is quite decent. Tracks such as Besabriyaan, Kaun Tujhe and Phir Kabhi work their magic. For Amaal Mallik as a solo debut album, this is a great effort and we can certainly expect more in the future! A 3/5 for the film’s music.
