Music Director/s: Khamosh Shah
User Rating:
Hunterrr starring Gulshan Deviah, Sai Tamhankar and Radhika Apte is a comedy that revolves around the life of a sex addict and his lustful journey with women. Considering that the film is based on a sex-addict, the music too had to have a naughty touch. The album composed by Khamosh Shah is a seven track album featuring artists such as Amit Trivedi and Altaf Raja.
Hunterrr 303 – Hunterrr Music Review
Hunterr 303 – the title track is a throwback 80s song. Crooned by Bappi Lahiri who is known for his famed Disco tracks, this track is a peppy number too. Composed by Khamosh Shah, the song is exactly opposite to his name, it is full of Bollywood ‘masala’ beats and reminds us of Bappi’s Mumbai Nagariya. This is only a one-time hearing song, it lacks longevity and no one would listen to it post the film releases.
Chori Chori – Hunterrr Music Review
Chori Chori is a cutesy romantic track. The composer gives a good duet with Arijit Singh and Sona Mohapatra’s vocals and for a change Sona who croons tracks with high pitches, does a great job at keeping it low and sweet. Arijit makes the lyrics penned by Khamosh Shah sound even more heart-melting and true to its name this is cute ‘Chori Chori‘ song.
Na Heer Na Hoor – Hunterrr Music Review
Na Heer Na Hoor is a full on ‘tapori’ song. The lyrics penned by Azazul Haque are all about being ‘jugaadu’ when it comes to the physical needs. The song is peppy musically but the lyrics seem too cheesy and I cannot enjoy a song that does not appeal much lyrically. This song may be perfect for the film’s theme but as a individual song in itself, there is less that offers to its listener.
Naina – Hunterrr Music Review
Naina is a slow romantic track. This time the composer Khamosh Shah takes the mic and he sounds good. Written by Azazul Haque, the song is beautiful as it talks about falling in love with the language of expression. The music is not exceptional and it draws inspiration from quite a lot of romantic tracks we have heard before. After Chori Chori this is one number that is worth listening to in the album. Again, this song will not make its way to your ipod playlists, it’s one of those songs that you will enjoy on radio.
Bachpan – Hunterrr Music Review
Bachpan is a winner when it comes to the lyrics. Penned by Swanand Kirkire, Bachpan is truly an ode to everyone’s ‘Bachpan’. The song defines what growing up is and how eventually we wander and lose the innocence and fun of our childhood. The song is penned so aptly that everyone who has grown up will relate to it. Amit Trivedi sings it with the necessary emotions and you actually connect to it. This is certainly one of the most meaningful and best songs from the album.
Ye Naa Gade – Hunterrr Music Review
Ye Naa Gade is a revamped version of a Marati rendition with the same lyrics. The song has been sung by Anand Shinde and Vaishali Made. The song lyrics are high on double-meaning and some naughty minds may enjoy that. The music is not up to the mark, even though the beats are high and upbeat. It sounds quite repetitive.
Dil Lagaana – Hunterrr Music Review
After a long hiatus, famed singer Altaf Raja is back into the music scene. We have grown up listening to his famous ‘Dard Bhare’ songs such as ‘tum toh ther pardesi‘ and ‘jaa bewafaa‘. The singer once again does what he is best at and comes up with Dil Lagaana which is one of those songs that give you the feel of an orchestra number. It has Altaf even saying a few ‘shayaris’ in between.
The Last Word – Hunterrr Music Review
The Hunterrr album is not all fun and has its share of boring tracks. The album is trying hard to strike a balance between being emotional and also satisfying its naughty plot. Chori Chori and Bachhpan are the two best tracks from the album that I actually enjoyed while the rest are passable. With nothing extraordinary in a seven track album, I am going with a 2/5 for this.
