Gabbar Is Back is the upcoming action drama starring Akshay Kumar and Shruti Haasan in lead roles. The film’s music album has been composed by Chirantan Bhatt, Yo Yo Honey Singh & Manj Musik. In spite of being a petite album, it is not as much enjoyable.
Romantic songs in Bollywood have a typical feel and Teri Meri Kahaani is no different than that. The song has been sung by Arijit Singh and Palak Muchchal. It is a typical song that starts off well but the transitions in between seem incoherent with the song. The composition is quite repetitive and we have heard umpteen songs that have similar arrangements. Lyrically too, the song has little appeal and hence I would say this is a passable number.
Coffee Peetey Peetey from Gabbar Is Back is a typical college romance kind of song. Dev Negi and Paroma Das sing this song with full potential. The freshness of this song lingers on since it is not a very long number. The chorus fills in a good vibrance for this song. It is a hummable track and those who enjoy light music will like this song.
The Yo Yo Honey Singh song has already gained a lot of popularity thanks to its music. Sung by Neha Kakkar, the sexy song is high on the beats. Even though the lyrics may be a little controversial, the song has its own flavor. Eventually, when the song turns to its rap portions, it sounds like a typical Honey Singh song and I wish he would have shown a little versatility when it comes to that. Aao Raja is expected to become the most popular tracks from the album.
I have no clue why this song is there in the album. Is it even a song? One simply cannot mix the dialogues of the film and set them on techno beats. Warna Gabbar Aa Jayega is an unnecessary addition to the album. You will not listen to this track other than when you watch the film.
Gabbar Is Back is a minimal four track album that actually has only one good song. Aao Raja is a good item number and other than that, there is no other song that is enjoyable. I am going with a 2/5 for the music of this film.
