Finding Fanny music album may have just four tracks but they are certainly nothing like you have heard before. This album should be an inspiration to all composers who have been feeding us with the ‘done to death’ same old tunes. Experimenting is the key and Mathias Duplessy has just got it right with this album.
In times of the slow romantic songs of the Ek Villain genre becoming super hits, Fanny Re is a track that will delight you with its freshness. With an excellent start, the opening tune itself sets the mood for the song. Extremely peppy, the music is in sync with the film’s setting which has Goa in its focus. The lively spirit of the song is what is most catchy about it. The other version of the song is ‘Mahi Ve‘ which is the same composition only with ‘Maahi Ve‘ instead of ‘Fanny Re‘.
This song is another delight in the album. ‘Ding Dong‘ is an entertaining number. Peppy and upbeat, english song Ding Dong is nothing like you have heard before. The song is sung by composer Mathias Duplessy. With random musical arrangements, there are many surprising moments in this song as its tempo shifts. With major guitar pieces, the song would be lovable for anyone who enjoys acoustic music or the John Mayer style of country music.
This track is one of the best songs I have heard recently. It is fresh and jumpy. One of those songs that you just cannot listen to without moving along with it. It is a crazy number that will lift your spirits just when you need it. The song sung by Sachin Jigar and Divya Kumar is a perfect blend of what you call upbeat music. The lyrics too are extremely catchy and ‘bootiya’ is sure to catch on like a fever. This song is the highlight of the album and all those who love to groove and shake their ‘bootiya’ this will be their anthem.
The Finding Fanny album can be summed up in two words, it is fresh and experimental. Composer Mathias Duplessy is a find. Even though the album has just four songs, they are complete delight and literally a breath of fresh air. This album is for all those who love their music to surprise them with versatility. I have to say I am thoroughly impressed and am going with a 3.5/5 for this refreshing album.
