Rating: 2/5 (Two stars)

Music Director: Himesh Reshammiya

User Rating:

Action Jackson album is no where close to its power packed name. With five original songs and four remixes, the music album composed by Himesh Reshammiya completely fails to create any charm in spite of the inclusion of excellent vocalists in it.

Keeda – Action Jackson Music Review

This song is a classic example of why quirky lyrics don’t always work. ‘Keeda‘ starts off in an upbeat manner and one thinks this is an exception to love songs. The ‘ladki patao’ song is bearable only till the first few lines and almost starts to decline on its sense by the end of it. I only enjoyed the beginning and was quite bored by the end of it. Sung by Himesh Reshammiya and Neeti Mohan, ‘Keeda’ fails to maintain its quirky charm. The song also has one remix and one reprise but compared to both, the original stands as a better choice.

Punjabi Mast – Action Jackson Music Review

Well, there is never a music album complete without a Punjabi number in it. Even though ‘Punjabi Mast‘ is a typical number, it is quite disappointing with its lyrics. Lacking the usual tempo synonymous with the Punjabi beats, this song did not make me move my fingers also, forget the feet. It is almost impossible to even listen to the entire song at once. Supposedly describing the essential traits of a ‘Punjabi’, it could have been better if the composer would have thought about its beats first.

Chichora Piya – Action Jackson Music Review

‘Chichora Piya’ has beats almost similar to the famed ‘Chalao Na Naino Se Baan’ mid-portions. Sensibility, when it comes to song lyrics, seem to be lost in the entire album. I couldn’t wait for this song to end post its first verse itself.

Dhoom Dhaam – Action Jackson Music Review

Does ‘Dhoome Dhaam’ sound like a romantic track? Well, to your surprise, it is. Crooned by Ankit Tiwari, who is well-known for his romantic melodies, this song comes as a savior in the album. It is one of the better tracks from the film and you would surely want to give this one a hear!

Gangster Baby – Action Jackson Music Review

‘Gangster Baby’ is high on tempo. This energy track typically sounds like an introductory number and could be one of the songs that is used for the opening credits of the film. Again, don’t go by the lyrics but this track seems to be the only power packed numbers in the entire album. It’s nice to hear Neeraj Shridhar’s voice after a long time.

Keeda Remix – Action Jackson Music Review

‘Keeda’ the original song is entertaining enough and a remix was kind of unnecessary for it. Also a remix with techno beats is the last thing one wants to hear with a song that has such quirky lyrics.

Punjabi Mast Remix – Action Jackson Music Review

While I was expecting the missing energy in ‘Punjabi Mast’ to come out in its remix, sadly even that could not manage to give me any thrill.

Chichora Piya Remix – Action Jackson Music Review

If the original track is unbearable, its remix version goes a notch higher. This item number genre song with added beats does not mend the problems that its pathetic lyrics create while listening to it.

Keeda Reprise – Action Jackson Music Review

Well, clearly the composer seemed to be confused about what a ‘reprise’ consists of. Selling the same song twice in the album, reprise is almost same as the original. If you liked ‘Keeda’ you will surely like this one too!

The Last Word – Action Jackson Music Review

The Action Jackson album is a complete disappointment and is Himesh Reshammiya’s most average work. The lyrics are completely absurd and even the music does not live up to a Prabhu Dheva film music. Not even one song has the quality to make it to your ipod playslists. It would be safe to say that the only time you will listen to this album, it will be during the film. I am going with a 2/5 for this album.
