The film was directed by Russo Brothers, who have a blockbuster like Avengers: Endgame to their name. Despite getting a huge opportunity, did you know the Bollywood actor was still in a dilemma? Below is all the scoop you need.
Actually Randeep was supposed to lead a film based on the ‘Battle Of Saragarhi.’ The film was in the development stage for over 3 years. It eventually ended up being shelved. However, we did see a film based on the subject, which was Akshay Kumar’s Kesari.
Randeep Hooda had put all his heart into the Saragarhi film. From growing his hair to improving acting chops – the actor had given it all. Now, in an exclusive conversation with Koimoi.com, the Love Aaj Kal actor has opened up about what went behind the curtains. He also revealed how desperately he wanted the film to work out. Randeep Hooda shared, “Extraction for me came at a time when I had been preparing for Saragarhi for 3 years. Due to various reasons, it seemed to me that the movie is not going to carry on any further. I gave an audition for Extraction but I was still reluctant to be a part of it because my commitment was towards Battle Of Saragarhi. But as it conspires, I had to take that call and leave that movie. I had to cut my hair and then, shoot for this one. So it came to me at a point where I was after putting all the hard work and being diligent – extending yourself as an actor, I was in for a big disappointment.”
Furthermore, Randeep spoke about his beautiful experience with Chris Hemsworth and the team. He shared, “This movie came along, and it came along with Russo Brothers, who’ve done Avengers. There was Sam Hargrave, who’s the best action director in the world and Chris Hemsworth. It was like ‘wow!’ but my heart was always taken aback by Saragarhi while I was doing Extraction also. That’s what happens in an actor’s life.”
We wish Randeep Hooda could have come up with his ambitious ‘Battle Of Saragarhi’ project. But we’re sure he has much more to offer to his fans and it’ll be worth it.
