Sushant Singh Rajput’s untimely death on June 14 has been in news every day since then. The latest development in the case is that the investigation has been transferred to CBI. The Centre conveyed the news to the Supreme Court on August 5.

Solicitor General Tushar Mehta states that the Centre has accepted the Bihar government’s request recommending a CBI enquiry into Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case. SC is hearing Rhea Chakraborty’s petition seeking direction for transfer of investigation from Patna to Mumbai.

Bihar CM, Nitish Kumar has been pushing for a CBI probe into the death of actor. The state’s home department made a formal request to the Centre on Tuesday seeking an investigation into the FIR lodged by the late actor’s father, KK Singh, at Rajiv Nagar police station in Patna.

The late actor’s sister Shweta Singh reacted to the CBI probe on her Twitter page.

Nitish told the media recently, “Everybody has been demanding a CBI probe in the actor’s case. The matter was also raised in the Bihar assembly on Monday and some MLAs demanded a CBI probe. After seeing the lack of cooperation from Mumbai police in probe by Patna police, I’m also of the view that CBI should conduct an inquiry in the case.”
