Somethings are just not meant to happen, even if they appear like the perfect thing. We feel every word of it when we talk about Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston’s romantic love story. This month would have been Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt’s 20th wedding anniversary, but alas, it was not to be. And now their former Los Angeles home has been on the market for over a year, with an asking price of $ 44.5 million.

Aniston and Pitt bought the 12,000-square-foot California house for US$13.1 million in 2001 from entertainment lawyer Ken Ziffren and spent three years renovating it. The current owner is hedge fund executive Jonathan Brooks, founder of Smithwood Partners, who bought it from the actors in 2006.

The home, described by the Journal as a “French Normandy Revival property”, has four bedrooms and comes with a swimming pool, ample outdoor space, and a championship tennis court. Susan Smith of Hilton & Hyland lists it. The irony is that Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt, who owned the home from 2001 to 2006, spent three years remodelling it and lived there for less than two years.

They added a screening room, as well as heated marble floors in the kitchen. They also created a pub room with wood floors brought in from a 200-year-old chateau in France. Like many southern California homes, this one was designed to merge indoor and outdoor living.

Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt’s dream mansion was first listed in May 2019 for US$49 million and got a US$4.5 million price cut in October 2019. With so many amenities and everything fit to meet the luxurious lifestyle one can dream of, we wonder why is no one buying this home? Is this house cursed?
