While the Dangal debutante recently quit Bollywood citing religious reasons behind it, the former’s viral video of slamming a journalist is all around the internet. Now, there’s a fusion of both taking place as Kangana has broken her silence over Zaira’s decision.
Yesterday, the song launch of Ranaut’s upcoming movie, Judgementall Hai Kya, alongside Rajkummar Rao took place. During the media interaction at the event, when asked about her views on Wasim quitting the Industry and terming it as a barrier to her religion, Kangana replied, “I think any religion should empower you. It should make you independent, make you fulfil your life and if you think your life is already fulfilled, there’s plenty of work around you. Try and help your family and friends. Kaveri is drying up. There’s so much to do. So, work and try and fulfil the environment around you. The essential fundamental requirement of any religion is to empower you, not disempower you.”
Zaira on 30th June, officially announced through a social media post that she’s quitting her film career because of religious reasons.

She wrote, “Five years ago I made a decision that changed my life forever. As I stepped my foot in Bollywood, it opened doors of massive popularity for me. I started to become the prime candidate of public attention, I was projected as the gospel of the idea of success and was often identified as a role model for the youth. However, that’s never something that I set out to do or become, especially with regards to my ideas of success and failure, which I had just started to explore and understand. As I complete 5 years today, I want to confess that I am not truly happy with this identity, that is, my line of work. For a very long time now it has felt like I have struggled to become someone else..”
