Twentieth Century Fox’s Diary Of A Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules and Warner Bros.’ Sucker Punch debuted in the Top 5 North American box-office chart last weekend. Diary ruled with a box-office take of US $23.8 million. The first Diary Of A Wimpy Kid drew $22.1 million in its first weekend last March.
Sucker Punch struck with a gross of $19.1 million to come in second. The audience realised, it was more style and spectacle than substance. Among holdovers, Limitless fell two places to come in third in its second weekend. The Rogue Pictures’ flick added $15.1 million to take its 10-day total to $41.1 million. Lionsgate’s The Lincoln Lawyer maintained its position at no. 4. Collecting $10.8 million in its second weekend, it took its total for 10 days to $28.7 million.
Paramount’s Rango fell three places to no. 5. Collecting $9.8 million, it rounded off the Top 5 chart. Its 24-day total went up to $106.3 million.
