Today morning came as a shock for all of us when Big B announced his departure from Twitter. His last tweet saw him exiting the social platform on a sarcastic note.

Sharing a picture from his film Hum, where he is choking a bad guy, the text of his last tweet read ,“T 2599 – TWITTER ..!!!?? you reduced my number of followers .. !!??HAHAHAHAHAHAHA .. !! thats a joke .. time to get off from you .. thank you for the ride .. there are many ‘other’ fish in the sea – and a lot more exciting !!”. The figure 2599 in Amitabh’s tweets denotes the number of days he has been on Twitter, in case you did not know. This friendship between Amitabh and Twitter began 2599 days earlier and has finally come to an end on a rather disappointing note.

Reportedly, Shah Rukh Khan has surpassed Amitabh on Twitter and has now gone on to become the Indian celebrity with the highest number of followers. The difference between both the actor’s followers is very marginal – where SRK has 32,939,375 followers, on the other hand, Big B stood at 39,901,349 followers.

It will be interesting to see how Twitter will retaliate to Amitabh’s sudden absence from Twitter and will the followers get to see their favourite Big B back on the social platform again?
