There is no stopping Padmaavat. The film is continuing to enjoy patronage amongst audiences who are happy to grab what Sanjay Leela Bhansali has to offer. This was evidenced on Wednesday as well when 12.50 crores more came in.
That has taken the film’s overall collections to 155.50 crores. Of course, this includes paid preview collections as well (5 crores) and if one negates that, then too the numbers are pretty high at 150.50 crores.
If one compares first seven-day collections of Padmaavat with other Bollywood biggies (excluding paid previews for all) then this is how it stands:
Sultan – 208.82 crore
Tiger Zinda Hai – 206.04 crore
Dangal – 193.53 crore
Bajrangi Bhaijaan – 184.62 crore
PK – 183 crore
Dhoom: 3 – 178.89 crore
Krrish 3 – 166.52 crore
Prem Ratan Dhan Payo – 165.45 crore
Kick – 164.21 crore
Happy New Year – 152 crore
Padmaavat – 155.50 crore
Trending
The film is finding itself at the 11th spot and rest assured if it would have seen a release in all states then the collections would have been much higher and at least over and above those of Krrish 3.
The next level now is for the Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor starrer to keep moving up the ladder. Each of the aforementioned films had a lifetime of over 200 crores and now it has to be seen which spot does Padmaavat eventually land up in the charts before the end of its run.
*Estimates. Final numbers awaited
